Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year.  This is an exciting time in your child’s life and we want to make this time both educational and fun.  Our students can look forward to an engaging year that will truly challenge them to dream, dare and do! We will continue our academic focus on Literacy.  Our goal is to build fluent readers, thinkers and writers. Our theme this year is “Soaring to Excellence,” where Success equals: Opportunities in the Arts; Academic Excellence; and Relationships for Results.

The mission of LCECC is “Building Excellence: Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day”.

Our vision is exemplified through EXCELLENCE: Engaging Instruction, ‘Xcitement for the Arts, Community Involvement, Expectations to Excel, Love of Literacy, Enthusiasm for Learning, Nurturing Environment, Collaborative Culture, and Experiencing of Success.

We expect that all students will learn and embrace “Living the Panther Way…Doing the Right Thing Even When No One is Looking.”  We are committed to teaching the “3 R’s: Be Ready, Be Responsible and Be Respectful”.  These lifeskills are also our school rules.

We welcome your participation and support this school year and ask you to be actively involved.  We are here to assist you in helping to develop your children into well-rounded citizens.  Working together, we will be able to reach our goals and celebrate the achievements of our students.

Parents as partners are essential to school success.  To get started, please read daily with your child, read and sign your child’s agenda daily, review your child’s Monday folder for important academic updates, and, most importantly, communicate with your child’s teacher.  The better the communication between home and school, the more successful your child will be.  Please take time to read through this handbook so that you will be familiar with our school.

We are excited to have students back in our classrooms and hallways, filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning.  It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected, and a part of our LCECC family.

I am exceptionally proud to be a member of the Lake City Early Childhood Center’s collaborative community, and I am looking forward to “Soaring to Excellence” this year!

Together We Can…

Proud Principal,

Mary Howard
